Railers Acquire Forward To Complete Earlier Trade With Americans

The Worcester Railers, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, and General Manager & Associate Head Coach Nick Tuzzolino, announced today that the team has traded for forward Riley Ginnell from the Allen Americans. The trade completes the future considerations deal which sent defenseman Artyom Kulakov to the Allen Americans on October 15th.

The 22-year-old Ginnell joins the Railers after playing in 18 games for the Allen Americans. With Allen, the Calgary native had two points (1-1-2) to go with 15 penalty minutes and a -3 rating.

Ginnell played in 45 games for the Rapid City Rush during the 2023-24 season, where he scored seven points (3-4-7) with 25 penalty minutes.

Prior to playing professional hockey, the 6-foot4, 205-pound forward skated for four seasons in the Western Hockey league with the Brandon Wheat Kings, Moose Jaw Warriors, and Regina Pats.

Across 163 juniors games, he has 66 points (31-35-66), 165 penalty minutes, and a +4 rating.

Worcester is home for a Wednesday night matchup with the Reading Royals. The Americans hit the road for the state of Indiana this week for games against the Indy Fuel on Friday night, and Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
