Just when it looked like a much-needed bye week would give the Raiders a chance to reset from their alarming 1-5 start, the team has been hit with another obstacle: veteran running back Marshawn Lynch will reportedly miss “at least” a month with a groin strain.

Heach Coach John Gruden listed Lynch Tuesday among a group of eight injured teammates and said that he would undergo an MRI this week, with the results made public after the bye.

Though no official update has been given by the team, the NFL Network’s Ian Rapport reported Friday that Lynch will miss extended time and is likely to go on the Injured Reserve list, which would mean at least six weeks out.

It’s not clear exactly when the 32-year-old Lynch sustained the injury, but he has been listed on injury reports multiple times this year with hip, shoulder, and abdomen injuries, as well as a groin injury in Week 1. He has not missed a game due to injury since joining the Raiders in 2017, and through 2018’s first six games, Lynch leads the team with 376 yards and three touchdowns in 90 attempts.

In his absence, expect fellow veteran Doug Martin, as well as DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard, to see more playing time.
