Musty scored his first goal of the tournament after a terrific passing play by Collin Graf and Kasper Halttunen on the man advantage.

Musty would add a second goal on the powerplay.

Musty wasn't done there as the talented winger potted his third of the game to make it 6-1.

“It's pretty easy when you're playing with these guys. Couple nice passes, another one from Smitty at the end, they make it pretty easy on me," Musty said postgame. "I like to play fast and physical. I like to play the skill as well. It's perfect. I mean, guys come here for lots of jobs. Everyone's going to be finishing hits out here. I think my play style fits right into that."

With Macklin Celebrini out of the lineup, head coach John McCarthy has adjusted some lines at even strength. Halttunen and Musty are wingers with Will Smith. All three were drafted in 2023 and could begin their professional hockey careers this season.

"It was fun to watch from the bench. I thought the bench was alive. Guys were into it," head coach John McCarthy said postgame. "[We] cleaned up some stick details throughout the game, which kind of eliminated the penalties. I liked our response when things got a little bit physical. I liked that we had guys involved. We weren't backing down, but we weren't taking unnecessary penalties."

Halttunen and Musty connected on a pretty play for the Sharks' fifth goal of the game.

Graf sported an 'A' on his sweater for this game, along with Ethan Cardwell, who also had one on Friday. Although this is Graf's first Rookie Faceoff tournament, the 21-year-old is one of the older Sharks prospects on the roster.

"He's a little bit of an older guy, played college," McCarthy said about Graf wearing an 'A'. "He spent some time with the Sharks last year, so he knows how what we expect, so it was an easy choice."

Sam Dickinson was terrific throughout the game. The 2024 11th-overall pick showcased his elite skating and defensive awareness. He was physical all night and didn't allow quality attacks from the Ducks.

Nolan Burke, Luca Cagnoni, and Colton Roberts scored the other goals for the Sharks. Cagnoni is the top powerplay quarterback for the second straight game.

There was also a massive fight between Braden Hache and Konnor Smith.
