In the summer mercato, departures are just as important as the incoming signings, given the former often affects the latter, and even if the players departing may not be significant, they can often help moves to be made, and this could be a case for AC Milan with Devis Vasquez.

Vasquez, the goalkeeper who spent part of last season with Sheffield Wednesday and the latter half of the season with Serie B team Ascoli, could fit this bill, and a report from Quotidiano Sportivo (via Milan Zone) has reported that he will depart once again in the summer.

Once again, it will be a move to Serie B for the Colombian shot-stopper, and this time, he will join Spezia, which is an improvement on his last loan spell, given they finished three places higher. The difference with this loan, hopefully, will be that it is a season-long loan rather than him moving mid-season once again.

Whilst this was likely due to circumstances, progression is only possible when stability is in place, and this is a must for a younger goalkeeper like Vasquez, given the need for trust and guaranteed game time, which will be massively beneficial for his development.

The report suggests that there is an agreement in place between the two clubs, but now there must be a discussion with Vasquez’s party to determine the outcome.
