PWHL Stars Shine As Czechia Goes Undefeated To Win Lidl Hockey Games
Czechia beat Sweden and Finland by identical 2-1 margins to open the Lidl Hockey Games, the Swedish stop on the Women's Euro Hockey Tour. They capped off the tournament, paced by PWHL stars, to go undefeated with a 3-0 win over Switzerland.
Boston Fleet defender Daniela Pejsova scored the eventual game winner in the second period for Czechia to break the deadlock. In the third, it was Minnesota Frost forward Denisa Krisova scoring, with the assist going to Ottawa Charge player Katerina Mrazova. Later in the third, Ottawa's Tereza Vanisova capped the scoring with assists going to her Charge and Czechia teammates Aneta Tejralova and Mrazova.
Barbora Dalecka stopped all 18 shots she faced in Czechia's net for the win.
Finland Outlasts Sweden For Second
In front of a boisterous home crowd of 2,974 in Södertälje, Finland hung on for a 3-1 win over Sweden in the deciding game for second place. 2025 PWHL Draft prospect Jenniina Nylund continued her climb up the draft board scoring the first of the game for the Finns with assists going to Ottawa Charge defender Ronja Savolainen and Sanni Vanhanen.
Early in the second period, Julia Liikala put Finland ahead by two goals with Savolainen and Nylund assisting. Midway through the third, Hanna Thuvik cut Finland's lead in half, but minutes later New York Sirens forward Noora Tulus answered for Finland reclaiming the two goal lead, which is how the game would end.
Savolainen and Czechia's Katerina Mrazova finished the tournament tied for the scoring lead with four points each.
December Stop Will Feature Canada and USA
December's stop on the Women's Euro Hockey Tour will feature two new opponents with Canada and USA's national development teams both traveling overseas to compete. Canada and USA's rosters competed in a summer series with many of USA's senior national team players who are still in the NCAA participating.
