PWHL Minnesota Signs Former AHL Vice President of Hockey Operations and Governance Melissa Caruso as General Manager
PWHL Minnesota has announced they have hired former Former American Hockey League Vice President of Hockey Operations and Governance Melissa Caruso as the team's new General Manager.
Caruso has worked for the AHL for the last 15 years, serving as VP of Hockey Operations and Governance since 2019. In this role Caruso was in charge of day-to-day operations for the 32-team league, including building the schedule, handling central registry, by-laws, and player registration.

Minnesota are the defending PWHL champions, and Caruso has a strong core of players to attempt to repeat, lead by Taylor Heise, Kendall Coyne-Schofield, Grace Zumwinkle, and incoming third-overall pick Claire Thompson.
Prior to her most recent role she was AHL Vice President of Hockey Administration from 2015-19, Director of Hockey Administration and AHL Central Registry from 2012-15, Executive Assistant to the President 2010-12, and Coordinator of Team Business Services from 2009-10.
A 2009 graduate of Springfield College with a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management, Caruso entered the hockey world as an intern with the AHL before being hired full-time.
Caruso and her lengthy resume will be a welcome addition for Minnesota after allegations of an unprofessional workplace earlier this summer. Former GM Natalie Darwitz was dismissed after an investigation.
