PWHL, 4 Nations Face-Off And NHL Arcade Coming To NHL 25

The Professional Women's Hockey League, the 4 Nations Face-Off and 3-on-3 NHL Arcade will be added to NHL 25 in a massive holiday update.

The PWHL will officially be playable in NHL 25 on Dec. 5. All six teams, players, uniforms, and the Walter Cup will be available in-game.

International women's teams first entered the EA NHL series in NHL 22. This is a fantastic move for the franchise and a great way to continue to help grow the women's game.

“I was so excited when I heard the PWHL would be added to EA SPORTS NHL 25. As someone who grew up playing the EA NHL franchise, I am honored that the next generation of women’s hockey players will have the opportunity to play the game as me and my teammates in the PWHL. It is so meaningful that young girls will be able to see themselves in the game. It is a big milestone for inclusivity within the hockey community and shows that women’s prominence in hockey only continues to grow,” Taylor Heise of the Minnesota Frost told EA Sports.

NHL Arcade will be coming to NHL 25 on Nov. 15, A reimagining of 3 on 3 NHL Arcade that was last available in 2016.

The mode will be available within World of Chel and will feature 3-on-3 gameplay with no stoppages, the return of Big Heads, and on-ice power-ups.

"This was something our team was very excited to ideate on an build, we've received feedback from our community that they wanted an experience in the vein of arcade, it's also something we believe will play well from a casual perspective and draw in new audiences," EA Sports Senior Producer Chris Haluke told The Hockey News.

The power-ups will include Supershot, Freeze, Super Speed, Small and Big Goalies.

Moreover, the 4 Nations Face-Off will launch in NHL 25 in early 2025. All teams and their jerseys will be playable in Play Now, Online Versus, Hockey Ultimate Team, Shootout Mode, and it will have it's own tournament mode.

Along with this update users who play NHL 25 between Nov. 15 and Jan. 2 will receive six Arcade items in World of Chel and an 84 overall road to the 4 nations choice pack in HUT. A PWHL choice pack will also be available on Dec. 5.
