PSG plan another world-record raid on Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Lamine Yamal from Barcelona and are prepared to pay a world-record fee to land the teenager.

Yamal is regarded as arguably the most exciting young talent in football after a record-breaking emergence for club and country.

The winger made his debut for Barcelona aged 15 years, nine months, and 16 days old and established himself as a regular in the side in 2023-24, scoring seven times in 50 appearances in all competitions.

Yamal became Spain’s youngest-ever debutant and goalscorer when marking his first appearance for La Roja with a goal in September and has become the youngest player in European Championship history at Euro 2024.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain want to make a statement following Kylian Mbappe’s departure for Real Madrid and are prepared to offer a world-record sum to sign the Spanish teenager.

PSG are responsible for the current world record after signing Neymar from Barcelona for £198m in 2017 and are plotting another record-breaking move.

However, the Spanish outlet say Barcelona consider Yamal ‘untouchable’ despite their economic issues.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta revealed in an interview with Barça One in March that the Catalans had already ‘rejected an offer for Lamine of 200 million euros’ and the €250m (£211m) that PSG would reportedly be willing to pay would also be turned down.
