Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz is shining brightly for Spain’s national team. As a result, the Spanish media are linking the midfielder to a potential move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Diario SPORT recently reported that Barcelona are eyeing a move for Ruiz and might offer Frenkie De Jong to PSG as part of the deal. Moreover, Eduardo Inda said on the set of El Chiringuito that Ruiz is a player that Real Madrid like.

“There is a club he has always loved, and this club doesn’t dislike the player,” Inda said. “Real Madrid likes him and he would be interested in going there. He’s a footballer who wants to leave his current club because his relationship with the coach is bad.”

SPORT (h/t Foot01) has provided more information regarding Barcelona and Real Madrid’s interest in Ruiz. Despite the 28-year-old being a star for Spain, he has yet to solidify a starting midfield job for PSG.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Real Madrid and Barcelona could take action this January to lure Ruiz. The report notes that Ancelotti might be keen on reuniting with his former player who he coached at Napoli.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are seeking experienced midfielders following Ilkay Gundogan’s departure. In addition to Ruiz, Hansi Flick is also interested in Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

Ruiz, who is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2027, is valued at around €35 million, but it’s likely that the asking price will rise if either Barcelona or Real Madrid make a move. Moreover, Luis Enrique might also block Ruiz’s departure, as the coach highly values the player.
