PSG Listed Alongside Crystal Palace, Liverpool as Potential Destinations for Chelsea Veteran

Raheem Sterling’s future at Chelsea is uncertain after his controversial statement on Sunday. An English outlet suggests that Paris Saint-Germain should be one of six clubs pursuing the veteran forward.

The 29-year-old was left out of the Blues’ matchday squad for their 2-0 loss to open the 2024-25 Premier League season to his former team, Manchester City, and wasn’t happy about it.

An hour before Enzo Maresca’s first game as Chelsea manager kicked off, Sterling’s representatives took to social media with a direct statement, demanding “clarity on the situation” and questioning why the player was missing from the squad.

With only a few days left until the transfer window closes, Mirror Football’s Harry Brent compiled six destinations that Sterling should consider to continue his career: Newcastle United, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, PSG, Juventus, and Saudi Arabia.

“A move to PSG might be a little harder to justify now the Ligue 1 giants have signed French wonderkid Désiré Doué, but when big players on big wages are looking to switch clubs, can you ever really rule the Parisians out?” Brent wrote. “Besides, signing an experienced player like Sterling might be just what the doctor ordered for Luis Enrique’s side.

“With superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi gone, PSG are putting their eggs in the youth basket. But they could take some pressure off the likes of Doué, Bradley Barcola and Warren Zaïre-Emery by bringing Sterling, an elite, proven winger, into the equation.”

Sterling would be a cheap option for PSG to bolster their attack without spending a high sum. Since joining Chelsea in 2022, Sterling has appeared in 81 matches, scoring 19 goals and recording 12 assists.
