Achraf Hakimi has consistently been linked with a move back to Real Madrid ever since he was sold by the club to Inter Milan back in 2020.

A year after he signed for the Italians, the Moroccan right-back moved to PSG, where he is thriving at the moment and has become one of the club captains under manager Luis Enrique.

Real Madrid, for their part, are understood to be keeping tabs on the 25-year-old right-back, whose current contract with Les Parisiens expires in 2026.

The idea is for the Spanish capital giants to explore the possibility of bringing back their youth player, possibly in 2026 when his contract expires, if there is no new agreement between him and PSG.

As mentioned earlier, the Moroccan right-back has become a key cog at the French capital club, more so since Luis Enrique took over the reins in 2023.

Hakimi’s ability to impact games going forward from his position and his partnership with Ousmane Dembele are seen as vital aspects by PSG.

Aware of the interest in him from not only Real Madrid but some other European giants, Les Parisiens have moved to try and renew his contract even though his current deal still has two years left.

Real Madrid, for their part, are on the lookout for a new right-back as they hope to secure a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal, who will turn 33 in a few months.

Hakimi’s name has been linked for some time now, but Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold is also a target, more so with his contract expiring next year itself.
