Ousmane Dembélé (27) has already been omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s squad to face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League, however, things could be about to get even worse for the France international, according to a report from RMC Sport

The reasons for Dembélé’s omission from the squad to face Arsenal remain unclear. L’Équipe reported that the winger was involved in a heated debate with manager Luis Enrique after Friday’s 3-1 win over Stade Rennais. However, the PSG manager has quashed that report.

He did, nonetheless, evoke the idea that Dembélé didn’t “respect [his] obligations towards the team.” It is a slightly vague explanation, especially given that Dembélé has been such a key player for Les Parisiens at the start of the season. However, his omission speaks for itself.

Beyond the disappointment of missing out on such a big game, RMC Sport understands that the former Barcelona winger could come in for an even tougher sanction. The publication reports that PSG could withhold part of the forward’s monthly “ethical bonus”.

This is an idea that has already been brought up, although the final decision will rest on the shoulders of Luís Campos and Luis Enrique.
