Prospect Experts Predicting Loads Of Kraken Representatives At The 2025 World Juniors

The 2025 World Juniors begin in just over a month, and as we near the highly anticipated event, prospect experts start to predict who will represent their countries. It looks like the Seattle Kraken may have many prospects playing in Ottawa.

The Athletic’s Corey Pronman, Scott Wheeler and Max Bultman worked together to build what they believe Canada, USA, Sweden, Finland and Czechia will look like come boxing day, not necessarily the teams they would build.

Starting with Canada, Berkly Catton and Carson Rehkopf are both expected to play major roles. Catton is projected to skate on the top line in The Athletic's prediction and on the second line of The Hockey News' Tony Ferrari's team. Catton started the season off a bit slow offensively but has found his stride recently. He's been tearing up the WHL, recording nine goals and 32 points in 20 games, on pace for the second 100-point season of his junior career.

Rehkopf is slated to skate in the bottom six of both experts' rosters. He's a big body with skill that would be a matchup nightmare for every team in the tournament. Through his first 20 games in the OHL, he's scored 12 goals and 34 points.

The Athletic aren't expecting any Kraken prospects to play for Team USA but do expect Zeb Forsfjall to play on Sweden's second line. The 19-year-old is a two-way centre who has been receiving praise for his mature game in the SHL. He would provide stability for a team that could bring a plethora of young draft-eligible prospects.

Similar to Forsfjall, Julius Miettinen would provide Finland with a similar play style. He too is a two-way centre capable of winning faceoffs, killing penalties and playing against the opponent's top forwards. He isn't afraid to play a physical brand of hockey and would help improve Finland's all-around game. Kim Saarinen is also one of the two projected goaltenders. He was a third-round pick by the Kraken in the most recent NHL draft. He's spent the year playing in Liiga, Finland's top professional league.

The final team and Kraken prospect predicted to play at the World Juniors is Eduard Sale. He's represented Czechia at the World Juniors twice already and this is his last year of eligibility. The 19-year-old is off to an impressive start to his AHL career, scoring three goals and nine points in his first 11 games. He sits second on the team in points despite missing three games.

The Kraken have worked hard and put a lot of emphasis on making their pipeline one of the league's best. The World Juniors is a chance to showcase it and will all the predicted representatives, it looks like the Kraken will be able to do so.
