Prince Harry Made His First Appearance of 2022 Alongside Serena Williams

It's been a while since Prince Harry has graced the world with his presence (he's probably polishing up that memoir), but his first official public appearance of 2022 happened today during a special chat alongside his pal Serena Williams and BetterUp CEO Alexi Robichaux. Together, they spoke about "cultivating the power of Mental Fitness through a bold commitment to Inner Work."

People reports that the talk included Harry speaking about the importance of taking time for himself, even if it's just a few minutes a day. He takes about half an hour every morning, but he knows it's not something that everyone can do.

"The self-care is the first thing that drops away. I'm happy to admit that — as a husband, as a dad," he said. "Okay, one of the kids has gone to school. The other one's taking a nap. There's a break in our program. It's like, right, it's either for workout, take the dog for a walk, get out in nature, maybe meditate."

He told Williams that self-care should be as routine as brushing your teeth and she said that she'd have to re-focus herself to fall in line with the suggestion.

"I have some work to do," she said.

Williams went on to say that she leans on Harry a lot for support, since she's a busy person and she loses herself in her projects — she even considers him to be a "coach."

"I know I joke a lot, but Harry is one of my coaches helping me to solve all my problems," she said. "I need some more problems solved so when can I come over and you can figure it out for me."

Harry brushed off the compliment, but he added that he knows it's tough for people to take time for themselves, so he's setting an example for everyone. Being better about self-care, he says, can make everyone better in other aspects of their lives, whether it's being a parent, an employee, or just a better human.

"You can't expect people will put in work on themselves if you don't give them the time to do it," he said. "When people focus on inner work, these people are better at work and are better at home."

Harry became chief impact officer of BetterUp Inc., a coaching and mental health company, back in March 2021.
