  • Prince Andrew appeared to be enjoying himself a day after Netflix drama, "Scoop," premiered.

  • He was seen horse riding near the Crown estate at Windsor.

  • "Scoop," starring Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, tracks Andrew's infamous Newsnight interview.

Prince Andrew smiled and waved to onlookers as he rode a black horse with a female companion just a day after the new drama, "Scoop," about his car-crash BBC Newsnight interview, aired on Netflix.

The Duke of York was later photographed on Friday looking relaxed in his black Range Rover driving down the Long Walk on the Windsor estate when he nearly ran over a dog. A passer-by's dog ran in front of the 4×4 as pedestrians alerted the Duke to the hazard, who appeared to laugh.

Earlier that day, the brother of King Charles I had been seen horse riding near the Crown estate in Windsor, accompanied by an unidentified woman.

The Duke of York is facing renewed attention after the release of the new Netflix film "Scoop." Starring Rufus Sewell and Gillian Anderson, the film tracks Andrew's BBC Newsnight interview with British journalist Emily Maitlis.

The new Netflix film, based on the book by ex-BBC producer Sam McAlister (played by Billie Piper), follows McAlister as she pursues an interview with Andrew about the prince's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in a jail cell just one month after being charged with the sex trafficking of dozens of minors.

The controversy surrounding Andrew's relationship with Epstein reached a crescendo in August 2019 after an unsealed document from a defamation lawsuit involving Epstein's former girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, alleged that the Duke had engaged in sexual relations with one of Epstein's alleged victims on three occasions.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the alleged victim who filed the lawsuit, claimed Maxwell and Epstein sex-trafficked her and forced her to have sex with Andrew.

Andrew denied the claims in a statement released by Buckingham Palace in August 2019, but the scandal lingered.

In November 2019, the Duke agreed to appear on BBC "Newsnight," but the interview only worsened his image. Andrew later resigned from his duties as a royal and was stripped of his titles.

In 2022, Prince Andrew agreed multimillion-pound out-of-court settlement - which was reported to be as much as £12 million.
