Price On Dobes
Carey Price may not play for the Montreal Canadiens anymore, but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about the team anymore. He recently gave an interview to RDS which will be broadcasted Wednesday at 21:30, but we were treated to a short preview yesterday and unsurprisingly, it was about Jakub Dobes.
The goaltending legend has seen him play so far and he loves both his compete level and the confidence he oozes thanks to his body language. Price adds that he's always told young goaltenders their body language was a huge part of giving confidence to their team.

Those comments are hardly surprising, while Price's body language was different from Dobes, it did inspire confidence for his team. In net, the winningest goaltender in Canadiens history looked like nothing rattled him, like everything was routine, like the amazing save he had just made was just a run-of-the-mill stop.
Meanwhile, the rookie goaltender is quite vocal with his opponents in net, he doesn't shy away from disturbing the opponents with his stick and pushing them if need be. When he makes a big saves at times, he makes sure everyone sees it, like that glove save last week after which he left his glove up for some time, as if to say "tadam! Got it!". Luckily for him it didn't backfire like the time Patrick Roy did that but dropped the puck in the process, gifting a goal to the Red Wings.
Canadiens' fans have already adopted Dobes and every time Martin St-Louis gives the net to Samuel Montembeault, there are complaints on social media. Every little play is scrutinized intensely and criticized harshly. Even with a small sample size, they are ready to give him the mantle. While the young goaltender's stats are indeed amazing (1.93 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in six games, including five wins), it's worth remembering he got those stats playing behind the new and improved version of the Habs. If Guhle is injured long-term, the difficulty level might go up for the young netminder.
The Canadiens will be back in action on Thursday night when they take on the Minnesota Wild and Marc-Andre Fleury. It wouldn't be surprising to see Dobes get the start then and take on Marc-Andre Fleury who has already asked his coach if he could get the start as this will be the last game of his career in his home province.
