Preston defender Lindsay signs deal until 2027
Preston North End centre-back Liam Lindsay has signed a new deal to remain with the Championship club until the end of the 2026-27 season.
The 29-year-old Scotland international joined on loan from Stoke City in February 2021 and then arrived on a permanent basis that summer.
He has since made 140 appearances for the Lilywhites and featured in every league game last season.
"I'm really happy. I've really enjoyed the time I've been here so I'm looking forward to it," he said.
"I love every part of it – the players, the staff, the environment. I'm delighted to stay."
Lindsay received his first Scotland call-up in October for their Nations League fixtures against Portugal and Croatia but he did not win his first cap on that occasion.
"It's great that he wants to commit to the club when he had the option to run his contract down to be a free transfer in the summer," boss Paul Heckingbottom said.
"I worked with Liam at Barnsley so I knew what type of player and person he was when I came in, and I think he's got better and better over the years. He's a great lad with a top attitude and he's been solid for us at the back."
