According to Gazzetta, the coach’s future at San Siro will depend on the results of the following three competitive matches.

After the Verona fixture, Milan will play at home against Roma on December 29. Then, in the first game of 2025, Milan will face Juventus in the Supercoppa semifinal in Riyadh on January 3.

Fonseca is not expected to be sacked if Milan fail to beat Verona this evening, but the club will reportedly assess results across the next three matches.

Nevertheless, on Friday, Corriere dello Sport wrote on its front page that Fonseca was “at a crossroads” and that the Verona game could be “decisive” for his future.

Milan are 14 points below Serie A leaders Atalanta with a game in hand and eight below fourth-placed Fiorentina.

It goes without saying that Milan directors expect better results in the coming matches.

Several sources, including Gazzetta, report that Fonseca will drop Theo Hernandez for the second consecutive match in Verona, starting Alex Jimenez as a left-back.
