Celtic were crowned champions of the Ladbrokes Premiership and Hearts relegated after a decision was made to conclude the season with immediate effect, the SPFL announced.

The news was welcomed by Celtic, including manager Neil Lennon who was delighted to have been awarded the title.

However, Hearts were unhappy with the ruling and have not ruled out taking legal action against the decision.

In England, Premier League football clubs agreed to return to training which can begin from Tuesday afternoon. The 20 clubs voted unanimously for the stage one of the return to training protocols as part of Project Restart.

Other significant news that emerged from the meeting included that Premier League clubs will have to consider quarantining players for up to 14 days in hotels before matches resume to ensure the safety of the players.
