Premier League awards: The Diallo derby, Marvellous Martinez
Moment of the Week
There’s only one place to start.
Manchester United snatched a dramatic derby win at the Etihad after scoring two late goals to turn defeat into victory.
A mediocre Manchester Derby burst into life in the final moments, with Amad Diallo the architect of the turnaround. After winning an 88th-minute penalty for Bruno Fernandes to equalise, the Ivorian scampered away to score a winner moments later.
His brilliant first touch took the ball away from Ederson before showcasing his cool to round in from a narrow angle. The away end inside the Etihad erupted after an unforeseen comeback, a result that piles the pressure on Pep Guardiola and a struggling Manchester City side. This one was a sweet one for the red half of the city.

Player of the Week
Manchester United’s derby day hero earns our Player of the Week accolade. Amad Diallo’s development has been the silver lining of a sorry season for Manchester United and he continues to get better and better under Ruben Amorim. Pushed into a more advanced role this weekend, he was a livewire that City struggled to deal with.
The Ivorian won 7/10 ground duels and completed five dribbles at the Etihad, while it was his alertness that brought the Red Devils back into the game. Diallo seized upon a loose pass from Matheus Nunes to win a late penalty for the equaliser, before bursting behind the Blues backline to score a famous winner. He needs to be a fixture in Amorim’s long-term plan.
Goal of the Week
Talk about getting your angles right.
James Maddison squeezed in a spectacular effort during Tottenham’s 5-0 thrashing of Southampton. His effort from almost the byline had all the precision of a sniper…

Save of the Week
How on Earth has Emi Martinez kept that out?
The Aston Villa keeper produced one of the most extraordinary Premier League saves in recent memory, denying Nicolas Dominguez when the ball already appeared past him.
It gets better with every watch.

Stat of the Week
Has there been a more dramatic decline from a team so accustomed to winning?
Things are bleak on the blue side of Manchester right now. Even struggling Southampton, who sacked Russel Martin after conceding five first-half goals to Spurs this weekend, have taken more points since November 1st. The champions are in crisis.
NO ONE has fewer points per game since the start of November in the Premier League than Manchester City 😬📉 pic.twitter.com/1R4cgmjGsg
