Predators Reassign Ozzy Wiesblatt, Kevin Gravel to AHL Milwaukee
Ahead of Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets, the Nashville Predators have reassigned defenseman Kevin Gravel and forward Ozzy Wiesblatt to the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals.
Gravel returns to Milwaukee just one day after being recalled by Nashville for a second time this season. He had one assist and a +2 rating in three games with the Predators from Dec. 12-17. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-shot defenseman is serving as captain of the Admirals for the second straight season and has recorded five points (1 goal, 4 assists) through 25 appearances with Milwaukee.
Wiesblatt returns to the AHL a week after receiving his first NHL call-up. He made his NHL debut Friday against the Vancouver Canucks and played again the following night against the Calgary Flames, averaging 10:12 of ice time over the two contests.
The Predators' latest roster moves bode well for the health of forward Tommy Novak and defenseman Adam Wilsby, both of whom practiced with the team Tuesday morning after missing multiple games due to injury. Wilsby last played in the Predators' Dec. 30 game against Winnipeg before landing on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury. Novak, meanwhile, sustained an upper-body injury the following night against Minnesota and has been listed as day-to-day.
The Predators wrap up their six-game road trip with their second and final visit to Winnipeg Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT.
