Porto enter Casadei race: Torino watch on, Lazio turn to Bologna

Porto are the latest club to enter the race for Italy U21 star Cesare Casadei, while Torino and Lazio both continue to negotiate with Chelsea over a move before the January transfer deadline.

Casadei has been eyeing a move away from Stamford Bridge throughout the January transfer window, and though there has been plenty of interest from a number of different Serie A sides, no bid has been accepted by Chelsea yet.

Reports on Tuesday night suggested that both Torino and Lazio thought they were ‘leading the race’ to land the 22-year-old midfielder, while updates on Wednesday claim that the Granata are now hoping to close a deal by the end of the working week.

However, according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Porto have also made a recent enquiry over the Italian’s availability.

Lazio, meanwhile, are slowly ebbing away in the Casadei saga, and could instead turn their attention in the direction of Bologna’s Giovanni Fabbian, according to Di Marzio’s update.
