Poll: Who should be the Miami Herald’s high school football Player of the Week? (Sept. 9)

Week 3 of the high school football season saw more notable performances from South Florida’s best.

This week, we continue a feature where we ask you to vote for the best performer of the week in Miami-Dade and Broward high school football.

Below is a look at the candidates from last week’s action. Take our poll below to cast your vote. The poll will be open until Thursday, Sept. 12, around 10 p.m.

Here are the candidates from last week’s events:

Preston Wright, Hollywood Chaminade: Wright completed 27 of 42 passes for 461 yards and threw four touchdown passes and no interceptions in the Lions’ 48-45 win over Plantation American Heritage.

Kamron Wilson, Miami Southridge: Wilson had four sacks to lead the Spartans to a 21-7 win over rival Miami Palmetto.

Chaminade receiver Jasen “J-Roc” Lopez hauls in a catch late in the fourth quarter during the Lions’ 48-45 win over Plantation American Heritage. Lopez caught 11 passes for 243 yards.

J-Roc Lopez, Hollywood Chaminade: Lopez caught 11 passes for 243 yards in the Lions’ 48-45 win over Plantation American Heritage.

Anthony McQueen, Miami Central: McQueen passed for over 300 yards and four touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Rockets to a 55-25 win over Booker T. Washington.

Brandon Kinsey, Miami La Salle: Kinsey had over 100 receiving yards and a touchdown to lead the Royal Lions to a 34-0 win over Belen, which was only their second against the Wolverines in the past 38 seasons.

Zacariah Ray, Plantation: Ray ran for 178 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries to lead the Colonels to a 25-21 win over West Broward.
