Police Searching Landfills, Rivers for Missing Wisc. Boy, 3, Whose Mom Was Recently Jailed

Elijah Vue was last seen around 8 a.m. on Feb. 20 at his home in Two Rivers, Wisc.

Police in Wisconsin are searching in landfills and local rivers in connection with a missing 3-year-old boy.

Elijah Vue, 3, was last seen around 8 a.m. on Feb. 20 at his home in the 3900 block of Mishicot Road in the City of Two Rivers, according to investigators.

“We will leave no stone unturned,” the Two Rivers Police Department wrote on Facebook Thursday. “You will continue to see similar large-scale searches as we receive tips and continue our search for Elijah.”

“We are exploring all possibilities to locate Elijah,” the department wrote.

Police also announced on Thursday that the boy’s 31-year-old mother, Katrina Baur, had been arrested on an allegation of child neglect. Jesse Vang, a man who lives at the same address where Vue was last seen, was also arrested on an allegation of child neglect.

Attorney and plea information for the suspects was not immediately available.

Elijah was reported missing by his adult caretaker, who called 911 on Tuesday morning.

“Elijah is described as having Hmong and White ethnicity with dark blond hair and brown eyes,” police said in a news release. “He was last seen wearing gray pants, a long sleeve dark shirt and red and green dinosaur shoes. He is possibly carrying a red and white plaid blanket.”

Police said Elijah also has a birthmark on his left knee.

There is no “indication that any other children or individuals in the community are in danger,” the department said.

“We’re extremely worried, we’re all emotional at this point, at the moment,” Orson Vue, Elijah's uncle, told local WBAY. “And we don’t want to think of the bad stuff that may have possibly happened to him and we’re hopeful.”
