Photo: Shevchenko receives Ambrogino d’Oro award from Milan’s city council
Andriy Shevchenko has been rewarded by Milan’s city council for his influence on the city, which extends beyond the pitch. Earlier today, the former AC Milan striker published a photo of the award.
Each year, the Commission of Civic Merit hands out 15 gold medals to individuals who – in one way or another – “have made a special contribution to the city”. It’s also considered to be the ‘highest honour’ awarded as a sign of gratitude by the city council.
In short, we are talking about a rather prestigious award and this year, the former Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko was one of the medalists. Well deserved not just for his impact on the city through what happened on the pitch, but also his presence in recent years and especially since the conflict in Ukraine broke out.
