Photo: Pau Cubarsí training with a protective mask following nasty facial injury
Pau Cubarsí came off the pitch following Barcelona’s match in Belgrade against Red Star looking worse for wear. The 17-year-old was sporting some nasty gashes and required 10 stitches to seal his wounds up.
Following the injury, images from training seem to indicate that the youngster is taking every precaution to protect himself and to make sure that he can still play football without any risk of his injuries getting worse.
Images posted by the official Barcelona social media account show Cubarsí wearing a protective face mask, strategically covering the areas of his face affected by the injury.
Many Barcelona fans have been singing the defender’s praises as the photos were unveiled, with many praising his resilient attitude and calling him a ‘warrior’ for pushing on through the pain.
Cubarsí has been a key player in Hansi Flick’s system so far this season, so the youngster will be reluctant to spend even a moment on the sidelines, lest another player comes and takes his place.
