Philadelphia Flyers Recall Rodrigo Abols From Lehigh Valley

The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled forward Rodrigo Abols from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, it was announced Monday.

Abols, who hails from Riga, Latvia, has spent the entire season with the Phantoms, collecting nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 34 regular season games.

Drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round of the 2016 NHL Draft, Abols has played in a variety of leagues since turning pro full time in 2017, including the AHL, ECHL and the SHL. Having spent parts of six seasons playing in Sweden, Abols put up 163 points in 266 career regular season games.

As Abols get recalled to the Flyers, he will have the opportunity to make his NHL debut in the near future. With Ryan Poehling hitting injured reserve, Abols should have an extended stay with the Flyers.
