Aug. 22 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Jahan Dotson through an intra-division trade with the Washington Commanders, the NFC East teams announced Thursday.

The Eagles agreed to send a third-round pick and two-seventh-round picks from the 2025 NFL Draft to the Commanders in exchange for Dotson and a fifth-round pick.

Dotson, 24, joined the Commanders as the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The former Penn State star totaled 523 yards and seven scores on 35 catches as a rookie. He logged 49 catches for 518 yards and four scores over 17 appearances last season.

The Commanders now enter the season with Terry McLaurin, Olamide Zaccheaus, Luke McCaffrey, Mitchell Tinsley, Dyami Brown and Jamison Crowder among their top pass catchers.

Dotson will join an Eagles wide receivers room that includes A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Parris Campbell, Johnny Wilson and Britain Covey, among others.

Earlier Thursday, the Commanders also were involved in a trade with the Cleveland Browns. They acquired kicker Cade York in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick in that swap.

The Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings in their preseason finale at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday in Philadelphia. They will face the Green Bay Packers in their regular-season opener Sept. 6 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Commanders will host the New England Patriots in their final preseason game at 8 p.m. Sunday in Landover, Md. They will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their regular-season opener Sept. 8 in Tampa, Fla.
