Peter Laviolette Does Not Reveal Details On Igor Shesterkin's Mysterious Injury
When it rains it pours.
The Rangers have placed Igor Shesterkin on injured reserve with an upper-body injury as he’ll miss at least the next three games.
It’s unclear when Shesterkin actually sustained this injury, and Peter Laviolette didn’t dive into much detail when asked about it following Wednesday’s practice.
“Nothing more than what you know,” Laviolette said about if he has any updates on Shesterkin’s injury. “It’s IR right now.”
While losing Shesterkin is a big blow for the Rangers, Laviolette put all of his confidence in Jonathan Quick, who is expected to start the majority of games during Shesterkin’s recovery.
“We don’t like to see any of our guys not available,” Laviolette said. “Obviously that’s a big position, but Quicky is ready to go, he has been waiting for games too. He’s played really well this year.”
Laviolette did not reveal how much time he believes Shesterkin will miss with this upper-body injury.
