Pete Davidson Has Been ‘in Trauma Therapy’ for Months Over Kanye West's Harassment of Him

Throughout his nine months dating Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson was subject to regular harassment from Kardashian's ex-husband Kanye West. While Davidson largely kept silent publicly about West's bullying, the comedian privately was deeply affected by it—to the point that he sought professional help.

A source close to Davidson told People that since April, Davidson “has been in trauma therapy in large part” due to West's posts threatening him. In March, West notably released a music video in which he buried a cartoon man resembling Davidson alive. Yesterday, West posted an Instagram with a mock New York Times front page declaring “Skete Davidson Dead at 28” following news of Davidson and Kardashian's breakup on Friday.

The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he's had to seek out help,” the source said. That source added that Davidson “has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she's been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship. Moving forward, he just wants to focus on his career.”

A source also spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how Davidson was coping with the split. “Pete is bummed things didn't work out with Kim, but he is focused on the future in terms of his career and personal life,” the source said. If Davidson's friends have it their way, he'll be dating again soon: “Those close to him already want to set him up on dates,” the source said.
