‘Perhaps he will stay at OGC Nice’ – Franck Haise addresses Jean-Clair Todibo’s future

Whilst Jean-Clair Todibo’s (24) future at OGC Nice remains up in the air, the Frenchman participated in Le Gym’s first pre-season match, a 2-2 draw against fellow INEOS-owned Laussane-Sport.

It had been thought that Todibo would join another INEOS-owned club, Manchester United. However, with both clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League next season, UEFA rules blocked the move, which had been all but sealed, as confirmed by Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

There are many other teams, both in the Premier League and across Europe that are interested in Todibo, with West Ham United also failing in a bid to sign the former Barcelona centre-back. Amidst that uncertainty, Todibo played the first 45 minutes as Nice drew against Lausanne. Franck Haise, following his first game in charge of Les Aiglons, addressed the future of his centre-back.

There are possibilities for lots of players. For the reasons you know, the market hasn’t really got going yet as you can see. I work with the players that I currently have. I know full well that in 15 days or a month there are players that will no longer be here or players that will arrive. For now, Jean-Clair is working well, he is very serious. He had a good half. I have no issue with playing him because perhaps he will stay at Nice, we don’t know,” said Haise in a post-match interview, attended by Get French Football News.
