Pep Guardiola has confirmed Ruben Dias asked to be replaced during Manchester City’s dramatic Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Premier League champions now sit 25th in the Champions League table and are at real risk of dropping out of the competition entirely if they cannot beat Club Brugge in their final League phase fixture next week.

Goals from substitute Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland gave City a two-goal lead not long after half-time at the Parc des Princes but Guardiola’s once again capitulated.

Ousmane Dembele got PSG back into it before Bradley Barcola, Joao Neves and Goncalo Ramos all scored to give the French champions a famous 4-2 victory.

City welcome Chelsea in another massive Premier League clash on Saturday and could be without defender Dias.

The Portugal defender has only just returned from a muscle injury but was replaced at half-time in the French capital, making way for Rico Lewis.

Speaking after the game, Guardiola confirmed Dias “didn’t feel good.”

“He asked to be replaced because he didn’t feel good.”

City were already without Oscar Bobb, Rodri and Jeremy Doku for their trip to the Ligue 1 champions.
