If the AP poll is any indication of how the College Football Playoff field will look, Penn State is going to miss out.

The Nittany Lions moved up to No. 5 — or the first team outside the CFP’s top four — after a comeback win vs. Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship. Penn State is three spots behind No. 2 Ohio State, who the Nittany Lions beat earlier in November.

Ohio State has one loss while Penn State lost to Michigan and Pitt in its first four games before reeling off nine-straight wins.

Alabama stayed at No. 1 after beating Florida in the SEC Championship Game while Clemson stayed at No. 3 and Washington at No. 4 after they won their respective conference championships.
