The Pelicans will sit Anthony Davis against the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers tried to get Anthony Davis in a Lakers uniform by reportedly offering trade packages to the New Orleans Pelicans before the February 7 deadline. But the Lakers failed miserably.
Now, Los Angeles will travel to New Orleans to do battle against the Pelicans on Saturday. Unfortunately, Davis won’t appear in any jersey.
According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Davis will sit against New Orleans.

Before the Pelicans went toe-to-toe against the Indiana Pacers on Friday, interim general manager Danny Ferry said the star forward will play the rest of the season on minutes restriction. Davis suffered a shoulder sprain against the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 14. He only played five minutes of the All-Star game, sitting out the rest of the game. And he’s only averaging 20.6 minutes over his late six games.
During the Pelicans’ 126-111 loss against the Pacers, Davis finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 20 minutes of action. A six-time All-Star, Davis is averaging 27.8 points and 12.8 rebounds this season.
