Pedro Neto has revealed what he discussed with Axel Disasi during half time of Thursday’s win against Gent in the Conference League.

The Blues made it five wins in a row in all competitions with a 4-2 over the Belgian outfit as Neto got on the scoresheet with a well taken goal.

Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Christopher Nkunku also scored as Chelsea continued to score for fun, making it 27 goals in ten games in all competitions this season.

Having taken the lead through Veiga, the Blues dropped off and allowed Gent to grow into the game and they were somewhat fortunate to go into the break ahead.

Enzo Maresca wouldn’t have been happy with how the Blues ended the half, but whatever was said at half time worked as Neto doubled the lead less than a minute in the second half as he fired home following a great ball over the top from Disasi.

The Portugal international ran over to celebrate with Disasi, who was Chelsea’s captain on the night and after the game Neto revealed why he did so.

“Axel and I spoke at half-time about that play” he told Chelsea’s website.

“It was a good goal so I went to celebrate with him because it was an unbelievable pass.”

Having had that conversation at half time the pair can’t have expected that play to come off as quickly as it did in the second half and obviously they were delighted.

Neto put in a impressive performance on the right wing and has a very good chance of forcing his way into the team for Sunday’s game against Nottingham Forest.

Disasi put in a solid showing at right back, but he will find himself back on the bench for the Forest game and faces a really tough task to get regular minutes in the Premier League given the competition for places in defence.
