Winning the UEFA EURO 2024 was a mixed blessing for the Barcelona midfielder Pedri. The youngster got his hands on his first international trophy with Spain’s triumph in the competition, but Pedri himself had to pay a good cost for it as he got injured after a tackle from Toni Kroos in the quarter-final of the tournament.

For now, the Canary Islander continues to recover from his injury, with which he will remain on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks. However, he has already met his new coach, Hansi Flick, and undergone some tests on his injury at Barcelona.

Recently, the midfielder answered some questions from the fans on the Residency app. As SPORT has noted, two of these questions were related to two of the hottest topics at the Catalan club, i.e., the transfer market and Lamine Yamal.

Regarding the first topic, Pedri was asked about the possibility of Barcelona incorporating Nico Williams. To this question, he replied:

“I have no answer for that question. What is clear is that it would be a great signing for Barça. In the Euro Cup, we have seen what he is capable of.”

The midfielder also recognized Lamine Yamal as the best player in the Barcelona team last season:

“The Golden Boy will be Lamine Yamal, one hundred percent… It’s a difficult question, but I’ll go with the young players: Lamine and Pau.”

Pedri also highlighted the two trophies he would like to add to his cabinet in the coming years:

“I already won a league with Barça and a Euro with Spain. Now, I’m going for the Champions League and the World Cup.”

The midfielder was one of the players who visited the Camp Nou with Laporta, Deco, and Flick to see the construction works in process there. Pedri believed returning to this historic ground would really help the team get back to the top:

“I’m really looking forward to playing there again. Playing at Camp Nou will surely help us be at the top. It was an impressive visit.”

With Flick in charge, Barcelona will definitely try to put up a challenge for the UEFA Champions League this season. Hopefully, Pedri will recover in time to start the new season and remain healthy throughout the season to help his team achieve this difficult task and get back to its rightful place in Europe.
