Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, Gunnar Henderson featured on 'MLB The Show 25' cover
Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz and Gunnar Henderson will grace the cover of MLB The Show 25, marking the first time three athletes received the honor, the game's producers announced Tuesday.
MLB The Show 25 will be widely available March 18 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. An early access digital deluxe edition will be available March 14.
"In 2025, MLB The Show is celebrating its monumental 20th Anniversary, a milestone that honors two decades of baseball history, innovation, and unforgettable memories for baseball fans around the world," Sony Interactive Entertainment said in a news release.
"To mark this special occasion for San Diego Studio and PlayStation Studios, MLB The Show 25 proudly features not one, nor two, but three cover athletes for the first time ever -- Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson.
"These rising stars join a rich history of legendary cover athletes, symbolizing the future of baseball as we celebrate 20 incredible years of the franchise."

Skenes, 22, went 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA over 23 starts en route to National League Rookie of the Year honors in 2024. The No. 1 overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2024 MLB Draft also became the first player in MLB history to start the All-Star Game just a year after being drafted.
De La Cruz, 23, hit .259 with 25 home runs and 76 RBIs and an MLB-best 67 stolen bases over 160 games last season. The Cincinnati Reds infielder, who earned a 2024 All-Star nod, made his MLB debut in 2023.
Henderson, 23, hit a career-high .281 with 37 home runs, 92 RBIs and 21 stolen bases over 159 appearances in 2024 en route to his first All-Star selection. The was the 2023 American League Rookie of the Year.
The first official gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 25 will be released Feb. 4 on San Diego Studio and MLB The Show social network platforms.
