Pascal Siakam to miss next 3 games due to COVID-19 protocols

The Toronto Raptors will be without Pascal Siakam for the next three games as the 27-year-old will remain in health and safety protocols, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Siakam was placed in protocols on Friday shortly before the Raptors' win over the Houston Rockets. The Raptors were also without six members of the coaching staff, including head coach Nick Nurse. Raptors general manager Bobby Webster would not say if there were any positive tests, or if any potential cases were linked.

Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported that Siakam had an inconclusive test prior to Friday's game, and that he was to undergo further testing.

The three games missed by Siakam will sideline him through the All-Star break. Provided that Siakam clears protocol, his first game back will be March 11 against the Atlanta Hawks. The Raptors are 3-1 without Siakam this season, and will likely mix and match their fifth starter between either Chris Boucher or Deandre' Bembry depending on the opponent.

Siakam is averaging 20.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists this season while shooting 45 percent from the field. He is in the first year of a four-year maximum contract.
