Paris Saint-Germain are giving up in their pursuit of Manchester United target Leny Yoro.

The Red Devils have made signing defensive partners for Lisandro Martinez an absolute priority this summer.

United are progressing well on a deal for Matthijs de Ligt and have reportedly agreed personal terms with the Dutch centre back.

What’s more, Erik ten Hag’s side have had two bids rejected for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and are expected to make a third bid shortly for the defender, as they have not given up hope on landing the Englishman.

Somewhat out of the blue yesterday it was reported that United had agreed a deal with LOSC Lille for the signing of 18 year old defender Yoro for €50 million.

The move came as a surprise owing to the fact it is has been widely reported that Yoro only has eyes for Real Madrid, but United’s new sporting department have been commendably aggressive in the market and have forced the defender to make a decision on his future.

In further good news for United, fellow competitors for Yoro’s signature, Paris Saint-Germain, appear to have waved the white flag in their pursuit of the player.

RMC Sport report that “PSG had prioritized the recruitment of Leny Yoro (18 years old) but the Lille defender prefers Real Madrid and is moving away from Paris despite convincing discussions with sports management.”

PSG have “tried everything” to convince the player but the teenager is “determined” to play for Real Madrid, according to the French outlet.

The paper claims that the Ligue 1 champions believe that they provided him with a strong plan, “significant playing time, easier integration into a locker room where he already knows people and continued development by remaining in the French championship”, but it was not enough to convince him.

In not so good news for United fans however, RMC Sport seem resigned to the fact that he only wants Madrid as they state “a departure of Yoro to Real Madrid is going in the right direction even if there is not yet a total agreement between the player and the Madrid club, nor between Real and Lille.”

It was relayed here yesterday that Madrid wanted to accelerate their push for the defender but then Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the European champions are happy to take their time and not rush into paying what United have already offered.

The Red Devils will be hoping that by expressing their desire to sign the talented star by being the only club to have agreed a deal with Lille, will help convince him to relocate to Manchester instead of holding out for a move to Madrid at the end of the summer or next year on a free transfer.
