Paris Saint-Germain are interested in snapping up Mohamed Salah on a free transfer in the summer, according to French journalist Roman Gaudin.

The Egyptian is in the final few months of his current Liverpool deal, and with the January window now open, he is free to enter negotiations with foreign clubs over a Bosman move.

While Liverpool have kicked off contract talks with their star man, there are no guarantees yet that an agreement will be reached, leaving the door open for clubs to prize Salah away from Anfield.

Ligue 1 giants PSG are reportedly willing to offer the Egyptian €500,000 weekly for three years to bring him to Parc des Princes for the latter stages of what has undoubtedly been an illustrious career.

However, Les Parisiens will most likely have to withstand competition for the Saudi Pro League, where Salah remains a man in demand after Al-Ittihad’s failed bid last summer.

Having racked up 17 goals and 13 assists in just 18 league games, Salah is undoubtedly in the form of his life at the moment and has been the best player in Europe this season.

His incredible output has helped Liverpool storm to an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, and Arne Slot’s men are on course for a first title since 2020.

However, the Reds are sweating on the long-term future of several first-team stars, with defensive duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk also set to become free agents soon.

In the meantime, Liverpool will be focused on securing a fifth straight win across all competitions against Manchester United on Sunday to kick off a pivotal January schedule.

Liverpool will follow this weekend’s heavyweight clash against United with consecutive cup games against Tottenham Hotspur and Accrington Stanley in the EFL and FA Cups respectively.
