From another incredible outing from Léon Marchand, to historic performances from Americans on the track, and the tennis final we all wanted, Friday was a well-rounded and entertaining day at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Here's a look at the biggest moments from Day 7 of the Games in France.

  • Watch Grant Fisher push the pace in the final seconds to take bronze

  • France sweeps men's BMX as Australia's Saya Sakakibara takes women's gold

France took a clean sweep of the men's BMX race, with Joris Daudet taking gold, Sylvain Andre earning silver and Romain Mathieu earning bronze. On the woman's side, Australia's Saya Sakakibara took gold, while Manon Veenstra of the Netherlands earned silver and Switzerland's Zoe Classens picked up bronze.

After Sakakibara's race, Mathieu — her partner — came over to congratulate her. The two have been together for several years, a true BMX power couple.

  • American Grant Fisher takes historic bronze in 10,000m

Grant Fisher held on in a difficult field to earn bronze in the 10,000m, persevering through a stacked field and pushing in the final lap to finish third.

Fisher's victory marks a crucial win for American long distance running, becoming just the second American to medal in the event in 56 years.

  • It'll be Alcaraz-Djokovic for gold!

Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will pursue their first gold medal in Sunday's men's singles final.

  • Caeleb Dressel out of contention to defend 100m butterfly gold medal

Caeleb Dressel's bad day continue, as he finishes fifth in the 100m butterfly semifinals. He misses out on the final tomorrow, in an event he won gold in last Olympics.

  • Leon Marchand is golden again with win in 200m IM

Marchand swam for an Olympic record in the 200m medley in front of a raucous home crowd, earning his fourth gold medal of the games. The 22-year-old French phenom pulled ahead during his signature breaststroke and was unstoppable heading into the final length.

  • Reagan Smith gets another silver as Kaylee McKeown takes gold in 200m backstroke

It's been the tale of these Olympics: Americans with a great opportunity to win gold are overtaken by an Australian swimmer. In the 200m backstroke on Friday, Team USA's Reagan Smith swam to her third silver medal in these games, after being overtaken in the final length by Australian Kaylee McKeown.

Meanwhile, Canadian Kylie Masse just out-touched American Phoebe Bacon to take bronze.

  • Caeleb Dressel falls short in 50m freestyle

Caeleb Dressel, who won gold in the 50m free in Tokyo, falls short in the splash and dash, finishing sixth and finishing 0.05 behind the bronze medal position. It looks like Dressel got caught between strokes and just barely missed out on the podium.

Cameron McEvoy of Australia takes gold, becoming the first Australian to medal in the event.

  • USA women's water polo takes care of business against France

Team USA made light work of France in their last group game, defeating the host team 17-5. The U.S. is now tied for first in the group with Spain, who still has one game left to play. Still, the United States has all but guaranteed a trip to the next round to continue seeking a fourth straight Olympic gold.

  • Team USA sets new world record in mixed 4x400m relay qualifiers

With Track & Field ramping up, the United States rolled to a huge mixed 4x400m relay win on Friday, setting a new world record in qualifiers with a time of 3:07.41. Vernon Brown and Shamier Little started the U.S. off strong, with Bryce Deadmon stretching the lead in the third leg and 19-year-old Kaylyn Brown putting forward a stunning run as the anchor.

  • U.S. men's 3x3 earns first win of the Olympics over France

The United States narrowly beat France, 21-19, to earn their first win of the Olympics. Canyon Barry dropped the final clutch basket to seal the deal for Team USA. The U.S. moves to 1-4, with another game on Friday to further their chances of advancing.

  • U.S. women's 3x3 beats Canada in overtime

The United States women's 3x3 basketball has struggled, but brought their record to 3-3 with a win over Canada.

However, that win did not come easy, as the U.S. and Canada entered overtime tied 16-16 off a crucial, shot clock-beating 2-pointer from Haley Van Lith with seconds left. Rhyne Howard then hit a beautiful jumper from beyond the arc to win the game for the United States.

Team USA is still in the game, with just a game remaining against China to fully secure a ticket to the next round.

  • Two more bronze medals for the United States this morning, as Ian Barrows and Hans Henken earn bronze in sailing and Casey Kaufhold and Brady Ellison take bronze in mixed double archery.

  • United States wins silver in equestrian jumping

The U.S. took home silver in the equestrian jumping team final, with three excellent rides, and just four penalties, putting the team in second place. Great Britain took gold, while France took bronze.

  • USMNT eliminated from Olympics with 4-0 loss to Morocco

And that's final from Paris, as the United States falls 4-0 to Morocco and fails to advance. The U.S. looked completely out of its depth against Morocco, who took advantage of mistakes and transitions to rack up the score. Even with two somewhat controversial penalties, Morocco dominated the game and left no doubt.

Morocco will now face the winner of Japan-Spain, while the U.S. will head home early.

  • More heartbreak for USA as Morocco scores fourth goal

A harsh handball gives Morocco another penalty kick, and Mehdi Maouhoub sinks it past U.S. keeper Partick Schulte. This is a brutal game for the U.S. as Morocco goes up 4-0.

  • Three-way tie atop men's golf leaderboard

Hideki Matsuyama landed in the rough on his tee shot on 18 and later put one in the water. He would double bogey the final hole while Tommy Fleetwood would bogey, giving us a three-way tie atop the leaderboard.

Matsuyama, Fleetwood and defending gold medalist Xander Schauffele sit at 11-under after the second round.

  • Morocco scores again, 3-0 over USA

The U.S. gets caught in transition, and Morocco takes full advantage, with Achraf Hakimi scoring through the legs of defender John Tolkin in the 70th minute. Morocco triples the lead and makes a U.S. comeback look nearly impossible.

  • Morocco goes up 2-0 over the United States

Morocco's Ilias Akhomach scores a stunning goal off a perfect assist from Abde Ezzalzouli, threading the ball through the U.S. defense to take a more dominant lead. It's all uphill from here for the U.S. if they want to stay in these Olympics.

  • USMNT still down 1-0 vs. Morocco

There's one man who has been especially busy on the field today: the referee, Yael Falcon, who has handed out a whopping 19 fouls with 30 minutes (plus stoppage time) still remaining. 12 have been called against the United States, with a couple of them being a little soft.

Only two yellow cards though — one in the 15th minute for USA's Jack McGlynn, and one in the 58th for Bilal El Khannouss, who will miss Morocco's next game on accumulation.

One that won't be called a foul is a beautiful goal-saving tackle from Walker Zimmerman in the 62nd minute, who perfectly times it to get the ball out from Rahimi's feet.

  • USMNT vs. Morocco

The second half is now underway for the U.S. men's national team, who are currently down 1-0 and who have quite a bit of work to do in order to stay alive in this tournament. Can they pull out the win?

  • Hideki Matsuyama grabs the lead back with a chip-in for birdie

  • USMNT is down at halftime

The U.S. is down 1-0 against Morocco heading into the locker room, after a penalty in the 28th minute. Team USA will need to equalize in the second half to stay alive in the Olympics.

  • Chase Budinger's Olympic dreams in danger of ending early

Chase Budinger, the NBA star-turned-Olympic beach volleyball player, is in danger of heading home early after he and his partner Miles Evans fell to Spain in straight sets on Friday. Budinger and Evans lost to the Netherlands earlier this week; as it stands, they are third in their group, with the Netherlands and France still to play.

The top two teams in the group will automatically advance, while the team in the third spot can advance as a "lucky loser." If the Netherlands defeats France, Evans and Budinger will be able to advance to that extra round. If not, their Olympic campaign will come to an early end.

  • Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul knocked out of men's doubles

The team of Tommy Paul and Tanner Fritz fell in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, in Friday's men's doubles semifinal to Australia's Matthew Ebden and John Peers.

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo posts 20 points, 7 rebounds in win

Antetokounmpo and his Greece team avoid elimination, beating Australia 77-71.

  • Xander Schauffele tops Olympic golf leaderboard on Friday

Through Round 2 Team USA's Schauffele and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama are -11 (though Matsuyama is still working his way through the back 9). Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood, Spain's Jon Rahm and Belgium's Thomas Detry round out the top five.

  • U.S. men's national team takes on Morocco in the quarterfinals

It's currently 0-0 in the 28th minute, and there's drama in the box as Morocco is awarded a penalty. USMNT goalkeeper Patrick Schulte dives the right way, but Soufiane Rahimi's shot slides into the left side of the goal. 1-0, Morocco.

  • Swimmer Tamara Potocká collapses following women's 200m IM qualifying heat

Tamara Potocká, a swimmer from Slovakia, suffered an asthma attack and required medical care Friday morning following a qualifying heat for the women's 200-meter individual medley, according to The Athletic.

The 21-year-old Potocká did not advance in the event after finishing seventh in the race, which was won by Canada’s Summer McIntosh. As she got out of the water at París La Défense Arena she fell to the ground before being surrounded by Paris Olympics medical staff. About a minute later she was carried off the pool deck on a stretcher and was seen wearing an oxygen mask while being taken away for medical attention.

Alcaraz, the No. 3-ranked player in the world, has yet to drop a set in the tournament held at Roland-Garros, site of the French Open. He will face the winner of Novak Djokovic-Lorenzo Musetti on Sunday with a gold medal on the line.

That's now 12 straight victories for Alcaraz, who had became the youngest man to reach the Olympic singles semifinals since Djokovic in 2008 after defeating American Tommy Paul on Thursday.
