Leicester Tigers scrum coach Dan Palmer has resigned from his role at the club following the departure of head coach Dan McKellar.

Palmer joined the Premiership side in October last year after working with Australia at the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

A club statement said Palmer submitted his resignation after McKellar left and was "unable to commit to the role fully moving forward into the new season".

McKellar left Leicester by mutual consent last week after one season in the role.

Senior academy forwards coach Neil Fowkes will take on the role of scrum coach in the interim, with pre-season for the 2024-25 campaign beginning on Monday, 1 July.

Leicester said an announcement would be made regarding a new head coach appointment ahead of the players' return to training next week.
