The Overall Moral Within Rangers Beginning To Take Positive Turn
The energy around the New York Rangers seems to be getting better.
The Rangers traded Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks last week, bringing shockwaves to the organization.
After weeks of constant trade rumors and speculation about the tension within the team, things have started to slow down.
During Friday’s practice, the energy was both competitive and lighthearted at the same time. It was a high-speed practice with a number of fast-paced and physical drills.
Players were in good spirits while on the ice. Specifically, each time Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad and Reilly Smith would score a goal, they celebrated in grand fashion, showing their humorous side.
These three veteran forwards have been through a lot this season, so to see them visibly happy was heartwarming.
Following practice, the team did their usual group hug, players shared laughs and were just messing around with each other.
One of Victor Mancini’s shots even propelled off of Shesterkin into the executive’s box, where Rangers general manager Chris Drury was sitting and the puck went over his head.
In the locker room, the overall vibe was more welcoming and positive, which is certainly a great sign as the Rangers continue to navigate through a difficult stretch.
