‘He has been outstanding’: Gary Neville praises 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur player during Liverpool match
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur suffered a heavy defeat to Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Gary Neville was impressed with one Spurs player.
Tottenham went down 6-3 to Liverpool in North London in the Premier League on Sunday evening.
It was a very good and entertaining game that Arne Slot’s side controlled from start to finish.
Spurs were defensively found out, and the Liverpool attackers tore them apart. Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah scored two goals each for the Reds.
For Tottenham, Dejan Kulusevski had a good game and scored in the 72nd minute. It was after the 24-year-old Sweden international forward’s strike that Neville praised him.
The former Manchester United defender was on co-commentary duty for the match between Tottenham and Liverpool on Sky Sports Premier League, and he praised him at 6:01pm UK time (December 22, 2024).
Neville said in the 73rd minute of the match: “Kulusevski is a player. He has been outstanding for them. He is in good form, Kulusevski. It is a good strike, good volley.”
View: Dejan Kulusevski is a shining light for Tottenham Hotspur
One of Tottenham’s best players this season has been Kulusevski. The 24-year-old has been a shining light for Spurs and has established himself as someone who can be relied upon.
Against Liverpool on Sunday evening, it was Kulusevski who was pushing Tottenham forward and doing whatever he could to take the game to the visiting team.
The Swedish star was involved in the first goal for Tottenham. He showed a lot of desire, and you felt bad for him that he did not have enough attacking players on his level.
Kulusevski did well against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup too and has been consistently good for Tottenham.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals and given seven assists in 25 matches in all competitions for Tottenham this season. The forward scored eight goals and provided three assists in 39 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.
