Ottawa Senators Assign Mads Sogaard To Belleville

The Ottawa Senators have assigned goaltender Mads Sogaard to the Belleville Senators, it was announced Thursday.

Drafted by the Senators in the second round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Sogaard has split time between the NHL and AHL this season. In two appearances with Ottawa, he has posted a record of 1-1-0 to go along with a 5.24 GAA and a .800 SP. Through six appearances with Belleville, he has a record of 0-3-2, a GAA of 3.24 and a .877 SP.

Having joined the Senators organization full-time at the end of the 2020-21 season, Sogaard has made a total of 29 appearances in the NHL over parts of four seasons, compiling a record of 11-11-3, a 3.55 GAA and a .879 SP.

Although Sogaard has struggled a bit to find his game this season, the native of Aalborg, Denmark has shown flashes of his potential across his pro career. If he can get into a groove with Belleville, he stands a good chance to get another shot in Ottawa soon enough.
