Ottawa Senators Assign Jan Jenik to Belleville
The Ottawa Senators have assigned forward Jan Jenik to the Belleville Senators, it was announced Wednesday.
Jenik, who was acquired by the Senators in an offseason trade, has spent time in both the AHL and NHL this season. In one game for Ottawa, he went pointless but has collected four goals and seven points in 13 games with Belleville.
Drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Jenik has appeared in a total of 23 career NHL regular season games, accumulating six points.
Having turned pro in North America during the 2020-21 season, Jenik has not been able to find his footing as a full-time NHL player but has shown flashes of what he is capable of being. As he gets re-assigned to Belleville, he will play big minutes for the club and will likely be one of the first recalls in case of another injury.
