Manchester City forward Oscar Bobb has offered an update on his Etihad Stadium future amid ongoing links to the likes of Newcastle United and Chelsea this summer.

The Norway international starred upon his return to action for the Premier League champions earlier this week, as Manchester City began their pre-season tour of the United States in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

A meeting with Scottish Premier League champions Celtic at the Kenan Memorial Stadium ended in defeat for Pep Guardiola’s youthful squad, but did see a stunning individual performance from Oscar Bobb.

The 21-year-old brought Manchester City level in the first-half with a goal of his own, and turned provider for a further two strikes in the second period of time in a 3-4 defeat for the Etihad Stadium club.

But despite Pep Guardiola committing his faith and belief in the versatile forward, the Academy graduate has continued to be linked with moves away from Manchester City on both permanent and loan agreements.

Speaking this week whilst away on pre-season tour in the United States, Bobb admitted that whilst his breakthrough campaign with the club last season was enjoyable, he has his eyes on playing a ‘bigger’ part for Pep Guardiola this season in a clear sign of commitment to the club.

“I enjoyed last season a lot, but this season I want to play more, play a bigger part,” the 21-year-old explained.

“Playing for this manager [Pep Guardiola] has always been a dream and if I have to wait a bit longer to eventually get more playing time, then I don’t mind,” Bobb explained, in a clear message on his future as he continues a willingness to bide his time at the Etihad Stadium.

The City Academy graduate continued, “There’s been times where I thought it might be very hard [to break into the first-team], but as soon as I got the smallest opportunity, I thought there’s no other options really.”

Among the clubs to have been linked with interest in Oscar Bobb are Newcastle United, who can boast Bruno Guimaraes in their squad with the Brazilian international known to be a primary transfer target for Manchester City.

City have already turned down the opportunity to secure the 26-year-old midfielder on one occasion this summer, despite being keen on the player, as Etihad officials showed no interest in activating a now-expired £100 million release clause.
