New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 6 game

The Houston Texans (2-3) return home and try to get back in the W column with an interconference matchup against the New Orleans Saints (3-2).

Last week, the Texans' momentum slowed when the Atlanta Falcons beat them 21-19. The defense forced two turnovers and rookie quarterback CJ Stroud went 20-of-35 for 249 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints put on a 34-0 clinic against the New England Patriots as Derek Carr's shoulder looked healthy and Alvin Kamara got settled back into his role. Kamara had 22 carries for 80 yards and a touchdown, which gave him 73 career scores, a franchise record.

The two teams last faced off in 2019 when the Saints won 30-28.

Tyler Dragon: Saints 24, Texans 20

CJ Stroud is performing the best among this year’s rookie QBs. Stroud’s 186 pass attempts without an interception are the most consecutive pass attempts without an interception to begin a career in NFL history. He might be in danger of throwing a pick this week versus the Saints’ fourth-ranked defense. New Orleans has seven interceptions this season, tied for second in the league.

Victoria Hernandez: Saints 21, Texans 19

Having Alvin Kamara back is a big relief for the Saints, and Tyrann Mathieu gave his hometown team a boost with a pick-six last week. While the Texans have a lot to look forward to in CJ Stroud, the New Orleans defense will rattle him just enough to help their offense secure the win.

Safid Deen: Saints 23, Texans 20

CJ Stroud has impressed during the first five games of his NFL career with the upstart Texans, but the Saints will rely on their veteran savvy to edge out this game in Houston.
