Oregon junior cornerback Chris Seisay has decided to transfer after leaving the program this past weekend, Seisay confirmed via text message to OregonLive.com.

According to the website, Seisay has been granted a full release.

Seisay had 55 tackles, six passes breakups, a forced fumble and an interception in 18 career games. He filled in during the Ducks 2015 Rose Bowl game for injured All-American corner Ifo Ekpre-Olomu.

His success in that game earned him a starting role for the following season. He started the first two games before suffering an ankle injury that required surgery and caused him to miss the next eight games.

Seisay told OregonLive.com he was slated to start this season, but decided to leave because he felt he wasn’t on good terms with the program.

Seisay’s absence leaves the Ducks very young at cornerback. Arrion Springs and Ugo Amadi are his likely replacements and safety Tyree Robinson played corner last year while Seisay was injured.
