Oregon football vs. Purdue live updates: Score, highlights from Week 8 game

The first conference matchup between Oregon football and Purdue will feature two teams heading in vastly different directions.

The No. 2 Ducks (6-0, 3-0 Big Ten) are riding the high of a major top-3 victory over Ohio State in Week 7, catapulting their chances to win the Big Ten in their inaugural season in the conference and reach the 12-team College Football Playoff. Meanwhile, the Boilermakers (1-5, 0-3 Big Ten) enter as losers of five straight games and seek a turnaround.

Oregon and Purdue will face off for the fourth time on Friday at 8 p.m. ET from Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Indiana. The Ducks lead the all-time series 2-1, including a 38-36 victory on Sept. 12, 2009, in the teams' last meeting. The Boilermakers are 1-1 at home vs. the Ducks.

Oregon also has conference wins over UCLA (34-13) and Michigan State (31-10).

The Boilermakers opened the season with a 49-0 win over Indiana State but have lost their previous five games by a combined 234-114 to Notre Dame, Oregon State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Illinois. Purdue did send the Fighting Illini to overtime last week but fell short in a 50-49 loss.
